INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WANE) – To foster greater emphasis on advanced nuclear energy, Indiana plans to organize an in-state retreat scheduled for the summer of 2025.
According to Governor Mike Braun's statement, the plan aims to create a state-level nuclear task force involving various parties. This effort seeks to address the community’s requirement for better understanding of nuclear power. The objective behind this initiative includes developing educational materials, crafting a comprehensive statewide outreach program, and assessing the potential for boosting economic growth through these efforts.
Indiana is ideally situated to become a frontrunner in nuclear energy at the national level, and this chance will assist us in shaping and speeding up our approach and concentration," stated Indiana Governor Mike Braun. "Working together is crucial for guaranteeing dependability, affordability, economic expansion, and sustainability for those living in Indiana.
The overarching aim of the retreat is to foster a supportive and knowledgeable advanced nuclear sector across the state, thereby strengthening Indiana’s robust economy and workforce.
Braun stated that Indiana possesses all the required resources to develop advanced nuclear technologies. He emphasized the importance of education and awareness campaigns to guarantee that key participants understand the technological aspects, employment opportunities, and long-term advantages associated with nuclear power.
The specific dates for the retreat should be announced within the coming months.
