Visitors to the 2025 Little River Earth Fest will get the opportunity to take an electric car for a spin this coming Saturday, April 12, by participating in a exclusive test-drive event organized by Donohoo Chevrolet, the Alabama Clean Fuels Coalition, and Drive Electric Alabama.

Between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., visitors will have the opportunity to try out various electric cars at the Little River Canyon Center during the festival.

At Donohoo Chevrolet, visitors can explore various electric vehicle options from Chevy, featuring crossovers, SUVs, and full-size pickup trucks. Those interested in taking a test drive need to show both a legitimate driver’s license and evidence of car insurance; digital versions displayed on mobile phones will also suffice for this requirement.

Michael Staley, who serves as the president, Alabama Clean Fuels Coalition , highlights this as a rare chance for individuals to directly engage with electric vehicles. "Given that most residents of Alabama have neither been seated inside nor operated an electric car before, this occasion holds particular significance," stated Michael Staley, President of the Alabama Clean Fuels Coalition. "Participants will be able to take control of the steering wheel and acquire their initial hands-on encounter with an EV. There’s nothing quite like practical experience."

Drive Electric Alabama is set to organize an Earth Day exhibit showcasing a broad range of electric vehicles from various manufacturers. Local electric vehicle owners will be present to engage in individual discussions.

Pete Donohoo, who owns half of Donohoo Chevrolet, mentioned that electric vehicles are increasingly appealing to newcomers. "The success of our brand along with robust promotional offers has led to many new electric vehicle owners leaving our dealership quite satisfied," stated Pete Donohoo, part owner of Donohoo Chevrolet. "We're delighted to participate in the Little River Earth Fest and offer potential customers a chance to assess how an electric vehicle could serve as both an enjoyable and economical choice that fits their travel and financial requirements."

Besides the electric vehicle events, Little River Earth Fest will also include live musical performances, led hiking tours, educational sessions with animals, and interactive crafting activities suitable for people of all age groups.

The event is complimentary and accessible to everyone.
