REHOBOTH, Mass. (WPFI) — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is advising motorists to prepare accordingly as they travel through the junction of Routes 44 and 118 over the next several months.

Beginning on Monday, MassDOT will commence efforts to enhance the intersection of Winthrop Street (Route 44) and Bay State Road (Route 118).

The construction work will take place between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Although there will be lane and shoulder closings, MassDOT stated that at minimum one lane for traffic will remain open at all times.

MassDOT stated that police assistance would aid in managing traffic flow, and additional signs will be installed to assist motorists during this period. This operation is anticipated to continue throughout the autumn season.

Motorists passing through the region ought to anticipate holdups and exercise care.
